Scenography and visual direction for the unveiling of Etrash’s AI-powered waste-sorting bin.
The concept centered on a divine ritual, an offering to a higher intelligence. The bin acted as a silent oracle, transforming waste into a moment of reflection.
The pre-launch campaign avoided showing the product, instead presenting waste as something poetic. Inspired by Richard Wentworth’s urban photography, discarded objects were recontextualized within the city landscape. The set, built entirely from salvaged materials, echoed this vision. A church-like structure guided the audience through two aisles toward a central catwalk leading to the bin. The led wall represented the bin’s mind, reacting live to object recognition. As performers placed items into the bin, the visuals shifted from soft motion shade to detailed scans, visualizing the bin’s response in real time.
