A typographic research project developed for Terre e Acque, a trade district encompassing five municipalities in the lower Friuli region. The project takes the area's traditional mosaic art as a starting point to create a custom typeface.
The typeface is built on a modular system inspired by the interplay of land and water—core elements of the region. Two distinct graphic modules were designed: a linear one representing “Terre” (soil, structure), and a more fluid form symbolizing “Acque” (rivers, canal). These components form the foundation of each letter, resulting in a hybrid alphabet that merges geometry with industrial aesthetic.
